I don't know if you guys got to check it out yet: www.ustream.tv/recorded/13497715Anyways, the podcast was alright, and then all of the sudden, Burr goes into this epic debate with Joe's sidekick where he absolutely destroys him for almost an hour about the logistics of intellectual property. If you don't want to check out the whole thing, I would definitely skip to about the 2 hour mark for pure win.

For those that were interested, Brian (Joe's sidekick) posted the e-mail the guys at stitcher apparently sent him in response on Joe's message boards:

Interesting debate. I used to listen to TMMPD on Stitcher because I have an Android phone, not an iphone. I don't believe its possible to get itunes on Android. Like Brian, I like to stream podcasts while drving. It's the shit. I hate listening to shitty radio. I think what Brian was saying about the RSS feed is that if you don't want the podcast to be broadcast on various third party apps then you should remove the actual RSS conotation off of the podcast. I don't think Brian was getting the point Bill was making about other people making money from using his podcasts, not so much that his podcast was out there for free. Anyway, I hope TMMPC gets back on Stitcher so I can stream it. I was pissed on Monday when I opened Stitcher, ready for my Bill Burr fix and that shit was gone! I searched it like 7 times and was like "WTF!", where the fuck is Burr?? It was a pretty funny/interesting argument. Bill, make a deal with these cozy cunts from Stitcher and get back on there goddamnit!

fuck shitter/stitcher. rogan's audience at shows is mostly or all online and burr isn't sure what amount of his are also listeners or online. he jokingly muttered that the/his audience are idiots and rogan shot back calling his (b-ball) fans losers - if they do another in the future i'd like to see just burr and rogan go. i also recommend that bill smoke weed because it would be hilarious and good for him! Stone him up good hit record and do the podcast. He so wants to! In the joecast you can hear his concerns of becoming addicted and being the dude the burnout i don't think that it would happen to him however if he doesn't hit a j he might just be phased out by the end of lets say around 2012-13 theres no argument thats he's not crazy enough anyways what's he got to lose?

The whole argument as I see it boils down to not asking before putting the content up. The fact that they did and it's more likely Bill just missed the emails changes the whole issue.
Bill is right, if they make no attempt to contact you and try to turn a profit on your creative material they are cunts.
If they do it the right way (which it turns out they might have been trying to do) then there is no problem. Bill may have been mistaken on the circumstances but I agree with his argument.

I take it this is why the rss feed is no longer working.

Stitcher doesnt use the RSS feed. If they did, then the download numbers would still count.
Anyway, people are tough to get a hold of. I kind of understand stitcher, but they are just bsing with that whole "stitcher number" thing.
No one cares about that. Itunes rank means something.
Anywho... That whole podcast was jokes...
"How about I send my picture to your dojo, you think you lose a belt then?"

Anywho... That whole podcast was jokes... "How about I send my picture to your dojo, you think you lose a belt then?" I agree, it was a funny podcast. I get the feeling that Burr is able to riff incredibly well and make almost any topic hilarious when he's got someone to work with. Burr needs someone to banter with to take his podcast to the next level. As it stands, he's hilarious solo, but when he brings on his girlfriend, or can talk with a guest he is 100x funnier. IMO it's more listenable than Rogan's podcast. Sometimes Joe goes off on "intellectual" tangents and makes for a less entertaining show (seriously, why would I want to listen to a comedian's sincere take on the government ).

I can understand that.
Yet sometimes I appreciate it as its usually a far more honest take on things than we get from other sources.

Or if you have a degree in political science you can cringe you teeth every time the comedian says something that is simply not right. Rogan has shown he doesn't really understand how a federal system works, and he's gone on 20 minute rants about the economy. Very tough to listen to.

I can imagine. I have my doubts though that what we are taught to be "the way it works" could be more than a bit inaccurate. But that's a different issue entirely.

If stitcher could let bill have his download numbers I would be on their side of the argument. You can take the material because it's on the RSS feed but you can't 'steal downloads' and profit from it.

Why does stitcher even care? So long as people go to them to get some content. Its douchebag companies like this, who basically, act as pimps thats ruining the world.
They should suck it up and continue doing what they do.

i listened to the argument between Bill + Brian, Brian was making descriptive claims about what CAN and CANNOT be done, whilst Bill was making normative claims about what SHOULD and SHOULDN'T be done.

Maybe you should listen to Joe Rogans intellectual tangents, just because he is a comedian doesn't mean he isn't a smart person. The dude makes sense 90% of the time, and with the internet it takes little to no effort to check any statements he makes that sound like they aren't true. I think its silly to discount someone based on their profession. Who would you listen to for a sincere take on the government? The majority of the guys who are supposed to be giving sincere opinions have already been exposed for sucking the country dry, whos left?
